Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Warren A. “Hoot” Van Leuven, 94 of Maplewood, passed away the evening of February 13th at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore, following an illness. His loving wife of 68 years is the former Mary Buckingham. Born in Maplewood, he was the son of the late George and Katherine Sachs – Van Leuven. He was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School Class of 1945. Prior to retirement, Hoot owned and operated Van Leuven Family Dairy Farm in Maplewood. He also worked for Road Scholar Transport and Tose Fowler Trucking. Warren was an active member of the Hamlin Assembly of God Church. He loved gardening, John Deere tractors, and spending time with his family and pets. Also surviving are daughters Jo Ann Juice and her husband Sam of Stewartsville, NJ, Sandy Novobilski and her husband Ed of Lake Ariel, Susan Van Leuven and companion Oscar Roman of Lake Ariel, and Sarah Van Leuven of Lake Ariel; daughter-in-law Diane Van Leuven of Lake Ariel; sons Jerrald Van Leuven and his wife Brinda of Birdsboro, PA, and John Van Leuven and his wife Amy of South Canaan; 13 grandchildren; 22 great – grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Brian Van Leuven; sisters Louise Eroh, Ruth Chapman, and Betty Bunting; Brothers Marshall and Harold Van Leuven. Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, February 26 from 10am – 12pm in the Hamlin Assembly of God Church, 613 Easton Turnpike, Lake Ariel, Pa 18436.
