A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10am  at St Thomas More Church 105 Gravity Rd., Lake Ariel, PA.

Friends may call Monday from 4-7pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd., Lake Ariel, PA.

Interment with full military honors will take place Wednesday, October 26th precisely at 2pm in the Quantico National Cemetery 18424 Joplin Rd., Triangle, Virginia 22172.

Walter J. Moran

Walter J. Moran, Lake Ariel, died peacefully surrounded by his family at Wayne Memorial Hospital after an illness. He was preceded in death by his son, Sean Patrick Moran, and parents, Walter and Julia Moran. 

Born 1938 in Providence, Rhode Island, he was a graduate of St. Rafael’s Academy and Providence College.  He served his country honorably in the United States Army serving as an Intelligence Analyst after studying at the Defense Language Institute and later graduating from the Army War College.  Prior to his retirement Walter served as the Associate Director of the Army Space Program Office.

Walter is survived by his wife, Edna; his son, Randy Moran and wife Julie of Virginia; his daughter, Tracy Trainor and husband Dominic of Ireland; grandchildren, Sean Trainor, Julian Moran, and Molly Moran; his sister, Kathleen Daly and husband, John, of Wellesley, Massachusetts; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
