Wally Georgie Fuhlbrugge passed away on Monday, February 9, 2016, at The Hospice of the Sacred Heart General In-Patient Facility in Dunmore, PA. He was 86 years old.

Born in Manhattan, NY on November 19, 1929 to the late Waldemar and Clara, he is survived by a stepdaughter Mary Ellen Corbett, a stepson Joseph Gagliardo and two sons, Mark and Stuart Fuhlbrugge; in addition to thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law Anthony, a half-brother, Wally, and a half-sister Linda. He was also predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Vivian, and his daughter Christine and his son Vincent.

Wally was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, New York, class of 1950. He served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1950-1958, attaining the rank of Staff Sargent. After his service, he worked as a technical writer, radio and radar technical specialist, and various other technical jobs in private defense firms in New York and New Jersey. Before retirement he was employed for Raytheon Corp. as a technical consultant, residing in Pompton Lakes New Jersey, where he and his family also resided. Upon retirement he and his family moved to Wallenpaupack Lake Estates in Ledgedale, PA.

Wally’s family would like to thank the entire staff of The Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their excellent treatment and loving care given to him and the Care Givers of America for their compassionate attention shown to him.

Wally will be remembered as a loving, selfless, gentle person, who never met a stranger, and who always seemed to find a ray of sunshine and goodness in everyone he loved. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be sorely missed.

Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 11th, 2016, 1:00 pm, at St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Ledgedale
