Victoria (Vicki) Maria Swift of Hawley, PA, age 76, lost her battle to ALS on July 12th, 2023 in Honesdale, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents Velma Krager (nee Schutz) and Henry Krager of Hawley, PA.

She was born in Brockton, MA; spent most of her life in Uswick, PA and attended Wallenpaupack School, but then moved to New Jersey where she then graduated from Morris Hills High School in Rockaway, NJ. She earned an associate degree from Keystone College in La Plume, Pa.

After working for the Department of the Army at Picatinny Arsenal as a civil servant for more than 8 years, she decided to move back to Hawley, PA. Victoria worked for Wallenpaupack Area School District for 19 years and then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she then worked for Del Webb Memorial Hospital in Sun City West, AZ. She served with pride as the Volunteer Services Coordinator for 15 years until retirement.

Victoria moved back home to Hawley, PA after selling her home in Buckeye, AZ. She was a lifelong volunteer and loved to be of service to others. While living in NJ, she volunteered for the Easter Seals and Girls Scouts of America. Then in AZ, she participated in health fairs, blood drives and health screenings hosted by Del Webb Memorial Hospital and she continued to do so as a volunteer at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. Victoria was very involved in her church, Lakeville United Methodist Church. She served multiple positions and also organized fundraising events.

She is survived by her three brothers: Bruce Chandler (Catherine) of Lakeville, PA; Wayne Krager (Vincent Martone) Honesdale, PA and Gregory Krager (Elizabeth) of O’Fallon, IL; as well as by her three daughters: Sarah Swift Larson of Phoenix, AZ; Brenda Swift Bourg of Phoenix, AZ and step-daughter Susan Swift Schumacher (David) of Pottsville, AR. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Christopher Larson II (Stevie) of Phoenix, AZ; Spencer Larson of Phoenix, AZ, Day and Skyler Bourg of Phoenix, AZ and nephew, Austin Krager of O’Fallon, IL. Victoria is very thankful for her many lifelong friends, some of whom she’s had as friends for over 70 years.

During her fight with ALS, she wishes to express her gratitude for all the members of her care team.
