Tillie Van Slooten, 100, recently passed away in Julia Ribaudo Care Center. She was predeceased by her husband Garret Van Slooten, in 1984.

Born in North Haledon, NJ, Tillie was the daughter of the late Herman and Tillie (Vreeland) Van Schaik.

She is survived by one brother, Elias Van Schaik.  Preceding her in death are siblings Herbert and John Van Schaik, Mildred Boerner, Regina Johnson, Joan Payne, Edith Van Schaik and Gloria Molt.

Surviving are her children, June Van Slooten, Milford, PA and Gail Pless, Tampa, FL.  Grandchildren include Barbara and Dennis Luedtke and Robert Pless, Jr. along with several nieces and nephews.

Tillie maintained regular attendance at the Hawthorne Bible Church, and more recently, the Pequannock, NJ Reformed Church.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a seamstress and in retail sales.  Tillie was an active member of her Ladies Church Group. She valued family and spent much time engaging with them.
