Stephen John Truncale, a Hideout resident of Lake Ariel for 45 years, formally of Clark, NJ, died Tuesday evening in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, surrounded by his loving family.  His beloved wife of 57 years is the former Betty Kavlick.

Born in Jersey City, NJ., he was the son of the late Stephen and Lena Angelo Truncale.  He was a graduate of Jersey City Schools and Rutgers University. He was the former owner of the Union Wholesale Italian Foods in Union, NJ and has been an Industrial and Chemical Salesman for Foster & Co. since 1965. He was a member of the St. Thomas More/St. Mary’s Parish Community and a member of the Knights of Columbus Monsignor Joseph P. McDonough Council 7403. He was a United States Marine Corp veteran.

The joy of his life was family weekends at their lake house surrounded by his children and beloved grandchildren along with a bucket of clams.  His lifetime passion was skiing with family and friends at the Vermont ski house and ski trips all through the West and the Alps.  Summertime happiness was boating and camping on Lake George islands with all the family.

Surviving are daughters: Barbara Hutchins and her husband Kenneth of Hamlin, and Theresa Malkowski and her husband John of Lake Ariel; a son Stephen Truncale and his wife Karen of Forks Twp., Pa; grandchildren Stephen and Matthew Truncale, Theresa Rose and Kenneth Hutchins, and Jessica and Jonathan Malkowski ; nieces and nephews: Sr. Donna, Robert, Patricia, and Bill D’Alia.

He was preceded in death by his sister Roserie D’Alia
