Samantha Lauren Mayeski passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 27 at her home in Jefferson Township, PA. Sami was born on July 1, 1993 in Honesdale, PA. She was the daughter of Joseph and Laura Bassak Mayeski. Although she struggled with a replica watches congenital heart defect and other issues, Sami was a very happy young lady who brought smiles to everyone she met. She was a 2011 graduate of Honesdale High School. Sami was an 11-year member of the Wayne County 4-H and enjoyed her annual summer trip to 4-H Camp Shehaqua. She loved duct tape, the NY Giants, cheese, The Price is Right, Drew Carey, and the Ellen Degeneres Show. Sami was a therapeutic horseback rider and took lessons at Fair Hill Farm with her trainer Ben Goldberg. She could often be found driving her Gator around the family farm.

Sami is survived by her parents and her brother James. She is also survived by her Aunts Melanie Bielski and husband John, Lisa Box and companion Kevin Loren, Uncle Daniel Bassak and wife Trina, and cousins Sara Bielski, Leah Bielski, Emily Bielski, John Bielski, Cassandra Box and Tyler Box.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Joseph & Florence Mayeski, and James and Gertrude Bassak, as well as her uncle, Ronald Mayeski.

Sami’s family would like to thank everyone who was a friend to Sami for all of their love and support throughout her young life. Special thanks to Dr. Paul Diamond & the staff of Pediatric Practices of NEPA for their years of wonderful care, Judy Heller, CRNP, the www.actiondefemme.fr/ teachers & staff of the Wayne Highlands School District and special friends Ben Goldberg & DJ Daniels.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10am in St. Thomas More Church, 105 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel by Rev. Stephen Stavoy, Pastor.

Friends may call Monday from 4-7pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Lake Ariel.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fair Hill Farm Therapeutic Riding Program, 1046 Cochecton Turnpike, Tyler Hill PA 18469, or the Nebzydoski-White 4-H Scholarship Fund, c/o Rosalind Williams, 409 Stock Farm Road, Lake Ariel PA 18436.
