Ruth S. Stevens,90, of Ft. Pierce, FL. and formerly of Lake Wallenpaupack died Saturday. She was the widow of Donald B. Stevens, Jr who died in 2014.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Bees Schank . She was a graduate of Central High School, Scranton, College of William and Mary in Virginia, and attended Penn State University where she worked on her Masters Degree. She was a member of the Lakeville United Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Church in Ft. Pierce, FL. A member of Gamma Phi Beta social sorority for the past 70 years and was active in their Alumane. Also a past president of the Junior Century Club of Scranton and of the Suburbanites Club in Madison. She was also a 45 year member of the Order of Eastern Star # 189.

Surviving are sons William of Lake Ariel and Mark and his wife Debra of Milford; daughters Marilyn Smith of Longmont, CO and Cynthia McGinnis and her husband Kevin of Honesdale; grandchildren Max, Jake, Luke, and Grace Stevens, Jesse and Erin Smith, and Donald and Megan McGinnis; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her only sister Dorothy M. Schank.

Private Funeral Services will be held at the James Wilson Funeral Home, Inc., Lake Ariel.

Private Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
