Rosemary A. Worden, 81, of Honesdale passed away peacefully Monday February 21 2022, while surrounded by family. Her husband of 16 years, Robert J. Worden passed away in 1999.

Born in Moscow, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Blanche Edwards – Stout. Rose was a caring and generous soul deeply devoted in faith, as a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Congregation for over 50 years.

Her care and generosity were always on display while hosting family reunions, Sunday dinners, or a large gathering of family and friends “just because.”   She always took the time to teach her grandchildren family recipes and cooking techniques while preparing to host and what being a family really meant.  As she aged, her fondest memories were when the family would carry on the traditions of getting together and enjoying each other’s company.

The matriarch of a very large family, she is survived by daughters Sally Trapp and her husband Butch of Archbald, Robin Sullivan and her husband Greg of Honesdale with whom she has lived with for the last 21 years, and Tamora Else of Honesdale; sons Daniel Gruver and his companion Debi Gadziala of Covington and James “Skeeter” Else of Honesdale; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews spread around the country.

She was preceded in death by a son Gary Lee; sister Carol Engler; brothers Jerome Stout, Jr., James Stout, and Cyrus Stout.

Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.

A celebration of life, in the true style of a “Rosemary family gathering” will take place in the future, carrying on what she truly enjoyed the most.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
