Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 19th at 11am in the St. Thomas More Church 105 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel by Rev. Stephen Bosomafi, pastor.

Friends may call Tuesday morning from 10am until the time of Mass in the church narthex.

Interment, All Saints Cemetery, Hollisterville.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorial contributions be made in Rose’s memory to an animal shelter or rescue of their choosing.

Rose Wargo

Rose Wargo, 96, South Canaan, passed away Wednesday evening in the Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.   She was the widow of Thomas Wargo who passed away in 1984.

Rose was born in Arlington, Wayne County, PA., and was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucy Matistic Zomro and was educated in Arlington and Hamlin Schools.  After marrying Tom, the couple moved to Woodbridge, New Jersey, where they began to raise their family.  They then moved to Anaheim, California and lived there until Tom’s untimely death.  Rose returned East to be closer to family and friends.   She was a person of deep faith and was a devoted member of the St. Thomas More-St Mary’s Roman Catholic Parish Community.

Surviving are her son Robert Wargo and his wife Patricia with whom Rose resided and William Wargo and his wife Shirley of California; grandchildren Matthew Wargo and his wife Katie and Amanda Wargo Carlson and her husband Dan; Joey Fisher and his wife Lori, Tommy and Steven Fisher; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her son Eugene Wargo and his wife Sandra; daughter Karen Fisher;  sisters Florence Zomro and her husband William, Estelle Pruss and her husband Stanley, Jean Stefanowicz and her husband John, Loretta Miller and her husband Edward, Lucille Poduch and her husband Paul, Sophie Austine and her husband Howard, and Helen Michko and her husband Vincent;  brothers Alfred Zomro and his wife Irene, William Zomro, and Peter Zomro and his wife Stella;  two infant brothers Walter and Richard Zomro.
