A Private Cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel, PA. 

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00AM at the La Anna United Methodist Church. 152 Route 191, Cresco, Pa 18326.  The Memorial Service will be preceded by a visitation period starting at 10:00AM.  

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ronald’s memory may be made to: La Anna United Methodist Church, PO Box 142, South Sterling, Pa 18460.

Ronald C. Nier, 91, of Greentown, PA quietly passed away on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022 at home following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, the former Constance “Connie” Stefanski (Tellup).

Ronald is survived by his sons Gary Nier and his wife Leslie of Florida;  Glenn Nier and his wife Cheryl of New Jersey; step-daughters Cheryl Sicking of N. Carolina, Carol Stefanski and her husband Danny Simons of Florida, and Diane Carlin and her husband John of N. Carolina; a brother Robert Nier and his wife Joyce of Tennessee; grandchildren Heather, Holly, Katarina, Armand, Gina, Taylor, Kylie, Megan, Lauren, and Gabrielle; 4 great – grandchildren; 3 great – great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his daughter Donna Pallino, her husband, Armand Pallino and his brother Charles E. Nier.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Carl R. and Florence Brunett – Nier. He was a graduate of Woodbridge High School. Prior to retirement, he was an Officer with the Woodbridge, NJ Police Department for 25 years.   Ron was an active member of NJ State PBA Local #38 and a member of the New Jersey Police Honor Legion.

Ron was a veteran of the Korean War and continued to serve with the New Jersey Army National Guard, retiring as a First Sergeant.   While serving with the NJ Army National Guard he was a member of the 5th/117th Cavalry and the 117th Cavalry Association, Ronald was also a life member of the Association of the United States Army.   Ronald retired from the New Jersey National Guard after 42 years of service.

Ron owned and operated Ronroy Construction.  Ronald was an active and faithful member of the La Anna United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post # 859 in Newfoundland where he was their liaison to Boy Scout Troop 0029.  In 2019, Ron received the Four Chaplains Award from the American Legion Post #859. Ron was also a member of the Greene – Dreher Lions Club.  In 2018, Ronald was awarded the Joseph L. Wroblewski Award for his dedication and service to the International Lions Club.

A Private Cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel, PA.
