Robert M. Rafanelli, 72, of Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, passed away on the afternoon of November 6 following an illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he is the son of Rose Richards – Rafanelli of Long Island, NY, and the late John Rafanelli.

A devoted husband and father, he leaves behind his childhood best friend and loving wife of 52 years Katherine (Gallo). He is survived by his sons Robert (Andrea) Rafanelli of Georgia and Christopher (Renee) Rafanelli of Georgia; daughter Lauryn (Erik) Sweatman of Georgia; brothers Mark Rafanelli of Long Island, NY, and Wayne Rafanelli of Delaware; grandchildren Robert, Mia, Adriana, Kathryn, Elizabeth, James, and Isabelle; along with many nieces and nephews.

Robert grew up in Brooklyn, NY, where he began his life adventures with the love of his life, Kathy. He had a true talent for building and problem solving, which he was fortunate to be able to have a career in Project Management, of which he retired from Principal Builders in Syosset, NY. “There is always work to be done,” was the mantra that he lived by. He never sat idle and could be found remodeling a room, tackling a new project, and teaching his children/grandchildren that the greatest moments could be built by one’s own hands.

The world lost one of the greatest men, but this gentle giant’s legacy will always prevail through those he left behind. The life and lessons that Robert bestowed upon his friends and family, may one day feel like myths or legends, fore it seems almost impossible that a man such as this could exist. Yet, he did and the world is a better place because of him.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a date and time to be announced.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
