A blessing service will be held Sunday, February 2nd at 3:30pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home,143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel, officiated by Deacon Joseph Marcellus.

Friends may call Sunday from 2pm until the time of the service.

Interment, Monday, February 3rd at 10am in the Madisonville Union Cemetery.

Robert “Bob” Mattern, 83, Lake Ariel, formally of
Sterling, passed away Saturday, January 25th,  with his
family by his side.

Bob worked early on as a tool and die maker, then
later in life driving horse and carriage at Cove Haven
as well as many area events and weddings. Bob
touched the lives of many and will be greatly
missed.

He is survived by his wife Bertha (Slocum) Mattern;
three sons Neal and wife Maria, Lake Ariel; Brian
and wife Michelle, Lake Ariel; Greg and wife Wendy,
Promised Land; eight grandchildren Ryan and wife
Lala, Johnna, Keith and wife Molly, Adam and wife
Michelle, Bobbie, Dale Jr., Allison, and Conner; eight
great-grandchildren Eleanor, Isaac, Cameron, Ivan,
Hudson, Raymond, Evelynn, Jack, with number 9 on
the way; brother Herman; and many nieces and
nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Janet
(Webster) Mattern; son Dale; parents Herman and
Kathryn (Wheeler)Mattern; and brother Edward.

A blessing service will be held Sunday, February 2nd at 3:30pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel, officiated by Deacon Joseph Marcellus.
