Interment, East Canaan Cemetery, South Canaan.

Richard L. Seeley, South Canaan, died Monday at Allied Services Hospice Center after an illness. His wife of 60 years, the former Joan Evans, passed away in 2017.

Born in South Canaan in 1932, he was the son of the late Alexander L. and Eveia Enslin – Seeley, he was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Waymart High School Class of 1949. Before his retirement, Richard had been employed by Hanson Aggregates of Lake Ariel as a welder. He was a United States Merchant Marine and Army Veteran.

He kept active after retirement gardening and growing his well-known Seeley corn. He was also a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed and adored spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Also surviving are daughters, Lois Mancini and her husband, Anthony Jr., Sumter, S.C.; and Donna Weston and her husband, Kevin, South Canaan; sons, Richard Seeley Jr. and his wife, Susan; and John Seeley and his companion, Tammy Loyd, all of South Canaan; grandchildren, Melissa Seeley, Angela Mancini-Humphrey, Cari Morrow, Anthony Mancini III, Jacob and Jillian Weston, and Cartter Seeley; great-grandchildren, Conor, Brynn, Cora, and Brennen Morrow;

He was also preceded in death by a son, Arthur W. Seeley; grandson Alexander L. Seeley.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel, by the Rev. Art Yetter.
