Richard Jay Burrier, 75, of Hawley, died Wednesday evening at the Allied Hospice Center in Scranton following a long battle with a respiratory condition.
Born in Langley Field, VA, he was the son of the late Earl and Betty Bardenhouer Burrier. Prior to retirement, he was the Director of Landscaping for Woodloch Pines Resort in Hawley. He was also a proud United States Army Veteran.
Rich was an avid golfer and loved spending his winters in Florida. He loved watching sports and Golf, soccer, tennis, and the Philadelphia Eagles were among his favorites. Rich had a passion for animals and was truly a dog lover. If you got to know hm at all, then you would agree he had a fantastic wit and dry sense of humor about him that was his trade mark. Lastly, he was profoundly dedicated to his children and grandchildren, the rock of his family to all. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his daughters Kimberly Dennis and her husband Kevin of Waymart and Tiffany Kiesendahl of Hawley; a son Richard Jay Burrier, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Newfoundland; a brother James Burrier and his wife Kay of Fairfax, Va; grandchildren Sarah and Max Burrier and Devon and Sam Kiesendahl.
Cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and under the direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the BK Hope Cures Foundation, PO Box 406, Hawley, Pa 18428 or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 125 N. Washington Ave #260, Scranton, Pa 18503
