Paulette Mott, Jefferson Township, passed away early Monday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton after an illness. She was the wife of Carl Mott. The couple would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in July.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Pearl Rapp Summa. She was educated in Scranton schools, including the former Scranton Technical High School.

Paulette served many years on the Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Company in various roles, even holding the position as an Assistant Chief. She enjoyed fishing and often caught the biggest catch of the day. Paulette loved collecting teddy bear knickknacks, which could be found displayed all over her living room. Her favorite music to listen to was classic country, particularly Kenny Rogers, Loretta Lynn, and Tammy Wynette. When she was enjoying her music, everyone on Cortez Road was, too.

Surviving are her sons Donald Wallace and his wife Carol of Jefferson Township, Jamie Wallace and his wife Donna of Jefferson Township, and Rickie Wallace and his wife Martina of Jefferson Township; grandchildren Desiree, Dylan, Kerrianna, Jordan, Trevor, Rickie Jr., Courtney, Willie, Brandon, and Alexi; great-grandchildren Braylon, Abram, Addison, and Carson; sister Nancy Hann, twin brother Paul Summa and wife Diane; sister-in-law Carol “Cookie” Summa; brother-in-law Burt Mott and wife Ann; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by brothers Frank, Michael, and Theodore Summa.

Paulette’s family would like to thank her special caregivers, Annissa and Heather, for the compassion they provided her through the years.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday July 23rd from noon to 4pm at The Hen’s Nest, 241 Lake Spangenberg Rd. Jefferson Township, PA 18436.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
