Patrick “Bud” Tufano, Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, died Saturday night in the Moses Taylor Hospital after an illness. His wife is the former Dorothy Kenny.

Born August 18, 1928, in Woodhaven, New York, the son of the late Charles and Philomena Miranda Tufano. He was a member of the St. Thomas More St. Mary Parish Community. Prior to his retirement Patrick was a member of the Local 138 in Farmingdale, New York where he operated cranes and bulldozers. He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Patrick loved golfing, fishing, bowling, playing tennis and boating on Lake Wallenpaupack. He was a diehard New York Yankees fan who could be seen riding his golf cart around WLE. Among his numerous hobbies he enjoyed model boat building. He was an expert mechanic especially of his 1968 Cadillac, he taught his sons how to dismantle and put back together cars. Patrick enjoyed family gatherings and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Also surviving are sons Paul, Charles and his wife Sandra and John and his wife Maureen all of Sterling; a daughter Kathleen Peterson and her husband Rick of Pocono Lake; sisters Jen Pyzanowski and Emma Crimi both of New York; grandchildren Michelle Wheeler, Christopher, Sean, Brandon, Alexander, Alyssa and Joseph Tufano and Michael Peterson; great grandchildren Emily and Sabrina Wheeler.

The family invites all attending the funeral to go directly to the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s Church Rd. Ledgedale by Rev. Stephen J. Stavoy, pastor.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Cremation will follow in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home.
