Nancy J. VanDeLinde, Sterling, passed away Wednesday at the Allied Services Hospice Center after an illness. She was the widow of Richard VanDeLinde Jr., who passed away in 2018. At the time of his passing, the couple had been married 57 years.


Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Ernest C. and Evelyn Ross Goodrich and educated in Lake Ariel schools. Nancy had been employed in Honesdale as a professional secretary where she excelled in her chosen field due to her intellect, competence and independence. She also was employed by the Countryside Floral and Garden Center later in life. Nancy’s most important role was that of wife and mother taking great pride in her family.


Surviving are her children, Eleanor Billman and her husband, David; Richard VanDeLinde III and his wife, Cindy Jones VanDeLinde; Kimberly Field and her husband, Brian; and Ronald VanDeLinde and his wife, Tina; sister, Jeanette Wenkosky; grandchildren, Caleb Billman and his wife, Grace; Jonathan Billman and his wife, Kaitlyn; Britni Pender, Kayla, Elise and Dirk-Richard VanDeLinde, Samuel and Benjamin Field, Andrew Rupp; Sarina Grab and her husband, Alexander; Jacob VanDeLinde; and great-grandchildren, Naomi, Zula, Felicity Billman and Beckett Billman, Everley Pender and Eleanor Grab.


As per Nancy’s wishes, her services and interment were held in private and at their convenience.
