Margaret Lena Cross age 65 took her last breath on October 15, 2017 after a courageously fought battle with cancer. . She was married for 38 years to her husband David Cross and was his compass as they navigated life together.

Born in Hanau Germany she traveled by boat with her mother to the United States as a child. To those who knew her she was kind, loving, and very giving of herself and her time. Her children were her pride and joy and she taught them to be independent, how to sew, grow a garden and most of all be good people. She will be missed deeply and memory cherished always. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hollisterville.

Margaret loved various crafts, her pets, gardening, was known as the local chicken whisperer, and spent much of her time reading. She loved books and was at the library as often as she could. Most of all she loved her family. In her earlier years she could be found chasing after her four children, wiping faces and noses, placing band aids and reading stories. Her favorite saying after a boo boo was, “It will be fine before you are married”, and it sure was true.

Margaret is survived by a son Daniel Sledzinski and his wife Jessica and grandson Angus of Aztec, NM; daughters Rebecca Bennett and her husband Bob of Archbald, PA, Christina Kamau and her husband Felix of Harrisburg, PA, and Sarah Barchak and her husband Patrick of Lake Ariel, PA.; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two Aunts Wally Kahl and Erica Sasz.

A Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 10:00am in the The First Baptist Church of Hollisterville, 23 Pond Road, Hollisterville, PA 18444 with services by Rev. James Sheridan, Pastor.

Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and under the direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel, Pa.
