Lorraine Davis of S. Canaan died Saturday morning at home, with family by her side,
following an illness. Her husband of 42 years was the late William R. Davis Sr. who died in
2006. Bill was the love of her life and they did everything together.
Born in Hollisterville, daughter of the late Paul and Helen Brooks Moore, she was a graduate
of the Lake Consolidated School and retired from Pioneer American Bank after 20 years. She
was a member of Hamlin Assembly of God where she taught Sunday School, worked with
youth, and taught Missionettes and Bible School.
The joy of her life was spending time with her wonderful children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren.
Lorraine resided at Lutherwood for the past 11 years and the family would like to thank
everyone there for their wonderful friendship while she was there.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Erin, Tara, Tamara, and Betty at
Compassionate Care Hospice for their excellent care.
Surviving are a daughter Julie Schweinsburg and her husband Tim of S. Canaan; son-in-law
Thomas Mineo of Old Forge; grandchildren Nicholas and wife Julianna Schweinsburg of S.
Canaan, Sarah and husband Ricky Grant of S. Canaan, Joseph Schweinsburg and wife
Jennifer Page of Aurora, Colorado; and great-grandchildren Remi, Rory, Aria, and Wilder
Schweinsburg.
She was preceded in death by a son William R Davis, Jr.; a great-grandchild Baby E; and
Sister Audrey McAndrew.
