Linda M. Frisbie, 73, of Lake Ariel, formerly of Carbondale passed away Thursday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, after an illness. Her loving husband of 54 years is Robert Frisbie.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Eleanor Bonitz – Dennis. She was a graduate of Lake Consolidated School Class of 1966. She had been previously employed as a hairdresser and telephone switchboard operator. For many years she was a crossing guard in the Carbondale Area School District and was beloved by all the children she came in contact with over those years. She was a member of the Avoy Christian Church, Maplewood where she taught many children about God and led them to salvation.

She was loved by everyone who knew her. There wasn’t a person she couldn’t strike up a conversation with. She had steadfast faith in our Lord and Savior and shared her faith with all she came into contact with. Linda loved to crochet, making blankets and other items over the years. She was never without a book. Those that knew her well, knew that no matter where she went a book was also with her. She shared this love of reading with her daughter and many of those in her life – passing books around to friends and family.

Also surviving are her son Jason Frisbie of Lake Ariel; a daughter Joyce Hafer and her husband Kevin of Carbondale; brothers John Dennis III of Lake Ariel and Gary Dennis and his wife Patty of Lake Ariel; grandchildren Kristopher and Jordan Frisbie; nieces, nephews, and her many “adopted” children.
