Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 6 at 10am in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Tuesday October 5 from 4 – 7PM in the funeral home.

Interment, Carachilo Family Cemetery, Hawley.

Leon G. Carachilo, 64 of Hawley, passed away peacefully Saturday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family. His devoted and loving wife of 43 years is the former Barbara Penwarden.

Born January 3, 1957 in Carbondale, he was the son of the late John and JoAnn Wegst Carachilo. He was a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School Class of 1975. He was the President and Owner of Carachilo Incorporated and Carachilo Amusements, Inc.

Leon was an active Member and Past President of the Pennsylvania State Showman’s Association.  Leon Loved to go to the casino, driving his tri-axle, and Spending every second he could with his family.  His pride and Joy were his grandsons and his daughter.

Also surviving are his daughter Mellisa Hartman and her husband Donald of Hawley; the son he always wished he had James “J.D.” Manning Jr.; grandchildren Kyle Hartman and his fiancé Keana Adams of Mechanicsburg, Pa, Ryan Hartman of Hawley, and Dylan Hartman of Hawley; brothers John Carachilo of Hawley, Mark Carachilo and his wife Kathy of Hawley, and Jim Carachilo of Hawley; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins.

He was preceded in death by a sister JoAnn M. Saviet.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 6 at 10am in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel.
