Joseph L. Miele, Jr., age 73, of Taylor, PA formerly of Glen Rock, NJ passed away on Friday, October 8th, 2021 at Geisinger CMC, Scranton.

Born in Trenton, NJ on December 24, 1947, he was the son of the late Joseph L. Miele, Sr. and Therese C. Miele, brother of the late Michael F. Miele and father of the late Angel Miele. He was a graduate of Levittown High School (Bucks County, PA) and he served in the United States military, proudly and honorably. He married the love of his life, Lynne Miele (Svenson) on September 3rd, 1968, and together they raised four children, Therese, Candace, Joseph and Kelly.

He was a longtime baseball coach and mentor in Glen Rock, NJ and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Fairlawn Hunting and Fishing Club. Passionate about United States history, he loved speaking about it with anyone who would listen. He was known for his quick wit, organization and his kind, compassionate spirit.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, the absolute love of his life, Lynne Miele (Svenson).

A beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather he is survived by his four children Therese Blau and husband Zachary Sr., Candace Riedel, Joseph Miele, III and wife Jessica and Kelly Miele; two brothers, John Miele and Patrick Miele, and thirteen grandchildren Colette Richardson and husband John, Cassandra Intagliaro and husband Dan, Krystal Szerszen, Zachary Blau, Kevin Szerszen, Cheyenne Riedel, Zane Blau, Megan Miele, Liam Miele, Zyler Blau, Gavin Conklin, and Gavin Miele.

Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, 3:30 – 7:00 P.M. at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Rd, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410, vpfairlawn.com. All are welcome to attend.
