Joseph Gemelli, The Hideout, Lake Ariel, passed away in the early morning hours of August 17, 2024, at his home.  His wife of 29 years is the former Helga Hollwedel and preceded in death by his first wife Gloria Grieser of 32 years.

Born 1934 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Frank and Angeline Sorrentino Gemelli and was educated in Brooklyn schools.  He was a member of the Christ the King Parish, Commack, New York.   Joseph served our country honorably in the United States Air Force.   Prior to his retirement, Joe was employed as a Vice President with the Franklin National Bank-which later became European American Bank.

A lover of baseball, he was a NY Met and Brooklyn Dodger fan.  A man with a generous and caring heart, Joe would donate to and support St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.  He will be missed by those who were blessed to have known him.

Also surviving are sons Joseph Gemelli and his wife Nancy, John Gemelli and his wife Jill and James Gemelli; his beloved grandchildren Joey, Tara, Katelyn, Samantha, Ashleigh, and Nicolette; great grandchildren Aliyah, Brayden, Noah, Braelynn, and Arianna; nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his sister Theresa Dauscher.
