Joseph C. Decker, Sr., Berlin Twp., died Sunday at home after an illness.   His wife Susan preceded him in death.

Born in Kingston, NY he was the son of the late Charles and Susan Lynch Decker.  Joseph worked on the railroad in Middletown, NY and also as a driver for the Times-Herald Record in Middletown and lastly was employed by Roche Supply in Honesdale.  As of late, the majority of Joe’s time was spent working on his grandson, Joseph C. Decker, III, dirt track race time.

Surviving are his children Joseph C. Decker, Jr and his wife Rebecca of Honesdale, Gene Decker and his wife Lisa of Pine Island, NY,  Carl Decker and his wife Shannon of Honesdale, John Bates and his fiancé Anissa, Jeri Decker and Keri Decker all of Hawley; brothers Thomas and Robert both of New York;  twelve grandchildren; several nieces and nephews;  his companion of 27 years and caregiver Lorie Bates.

He was also preceded in death by a sister Geraldine Ricciotti and a brother Charles “Foss” Decker.

Services will be held private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
