His wife was the former Marian I. Beavers who died in 2010. Born 1928 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Raymond and Mary Maikranz Ritter. Prior to retirement he was a truck driver for DeFazio Trucking in Moosic. Poppy wore a smile wherever he was. He had a love for telling jokes, dancing and listening to music. He had a passion for fishing which he would travel every year to Canada. He also had a love for making wishing wells as well as yard ornaments in which he loved giving to people he met. Surviving are sons John Ritter and wife Nancy and Dennis Ritter and wife Sandy both of Jefferson Twp.; a brother Carl Ritter of Jefferson Twp; grandchildren Sue Hall , April Kennedy , Dennis and wife Erica, Kelly Ritter and fiance Joey Ward; great grandchildren Austin, Hunter Hall, Ashley, Ryley, Peyton, and Skylar Ritter, Zach,Quinn, and Alex Kennedy; Rhianna and Izzy McLaughlin; numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by sisters Eleanor Knickerbocker, Dorothy Moore, and Marian Kellogg and brothers, Allen, Elmer, Joseph, and Irving Ritter.
