A mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 10am at St Thomas More Church, Lake Ariel to be celebrated by Rev. Stephen Stavoy, Pastor.

Visitation by Family and Friends is from 9 am until time of service.

Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ledgedale.

John Edward Goldman, 81, of The Hideout, died Sunday morning at his home. His wife of 57 years is Patricia Daniele Goldman.

Born in Chicago Ill., he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret Rataczjak Goldman. He graduated from Hyde Park High School, Chicago. He was a proud Navy Veteran spending seven years stationed on the nuclear submarine USS Tinosa. He went on to receive his degree as a Metallurgist from The University of Illinois. He was employed by General Dynamics and Curtiss-Wright for several years. Prior to his retirement, he and his wife were the owners and operators of Carl’s Hobby Center in Randolph NJ. He was a member of St Thomas More Church in Lake Ariel.

John was an avid tennis player although his greatest passion was his photography.  He was often seen throughout the Hideout with camera in hand waiting for that special image of an eagle or other wildlife. He was a volunteer at Eagle Institute Delaware Highlands Conservancy and a member of Lacawac Sanctuary.

Also surviving are two daughters Linda Foster and her husband William, Jefferson NJ; and Laura Price, Hopatcong NJ; a son John Goldman, West Monroe NY; and seven grandchildren.
