All CDC guidelines, including the mandatory use of facial covering as well as proper social distancing, will be strictly enforced. Please be prepared to pay your respects in a timely manner and then exit the home.

A Masonic service will be held Monday 4pm from the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Monday from 2pm until time of service at the funeral home.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Dr. Honesdale Pa. 18431.

John “Jack” A.  Schumacher,80, of Lake Ariel, died Thursday afternoon at the Residential Hospice Unit at Geisinger in Wilkes Barre.    He was the husband of Denise Daly Schumacher.

Born in Staten Island NY, he was the son of the late Arnold and Harriet Schumacher (Goodey).  He was a graduate of Totowa Boro High School and attended Wagner College New York, NY. He was employed as a state trooper for the New Jersey State Police for five years and along with his wife were the owner and operators of Lakeland Insurance Agency in Tranquillity, New Jersey.  He was a member of Haledon Lodge No. 169 F&AM, New Jersey.  He proudly served in the United States Army.

Jack enjoyed going on cruises, living in the Hideout, and was an avid New York Yankee fan. He also enjoyed being a member and spending time with the Jaters on Staten Island.

Also surviving are four sons Bruce Schumacher and his wife Patricia, Preston CT; Brad Schumacher and his wife Danielle, Lake Ariel; Bryan Schumacher and his wife Jessica, Jefferson Twp.; and Brett Schumacher and his wife Candace, Lake Ariel; and three grandchildren Samuel, Jacob, and Emily Schumacher.

The family would like to thank to nurses and caregivers at Residential Hospice Unit at Geisinger South in Wilkes Barre for their wonderful care and compassion given to Jack.
