Janet Stroud Paraschak, formerly of Luzerne, passed away early Monday November 11, 2024.

Born March 28, 1944, she currently resided in Greentown, Pennsylvania with her husband Walter Paraschak for the last 50 years.

Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Caroline Redmond Stroud of Luzerne, PA. She was a graduate of Luzerne High School in 1961.

She retired from a job she loved, and was very proud of working as a realtor for REMAX in Greentown, PA.  She became a realtor in the 1990’s when her beloved friend Geri Ritter asked her to go to realtor classes with her.  The only issue was she didn’t drive, so during her 40’s she got both her driver and relator licenses.  She loved the Lake Wallenpaupack area and was passionate about helping people find a great house in the area.

Her other passions were collecting antiques, Christmas Ornaments and candles.  She always looked forward to her summer flowers.  She would fill the porches with beautiful hanging baskets, planters, and basil and her elephant ears were right at the front door to greet you when you came in.  But her favorite time was Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas dinners with her family.  She would plan for weeks the meal and what dishes to use.  They were always the most wonderful dinners for her family to enjoy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Eugene Joseph Gober, Jr.

Surviving are her husband Walter Paraschak, Greentown, PA; daughter Michele Griffiths and her partner Dennis Gromel, Wilkes-Barre, PA.; grandson Jeremy Griffiths and his fiancé Christine, Scranton, PA; sisters Marilyn Hartberger and husband David of Virginia and Doris Stroud Cohen;  nieces and nephews.

She was loved by many and will be sadly missed.

There will be no viewing or funeral.
