Hugo J. Strada of Sterling died Monday at his family home following an illness. His wife was the former June H. Bartleson who passed away in 2007.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Angelo and Mary Corti Strada, he attended the Sterling School, the Sterling United Methodist Church, and worked as a carpenter, farmer and handyman.. He was a lifetime member of the Hamlin Fire and Rescue Company and a lifetime member of Moc-A-Tek Speedway. He enjoyed all kinds of car racing, fishing, and was dedicated to his family and friends.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful and caring people who assisted the family with his care during his illness.

Surviving are daughters Shirley Chapman and her husband Jim of Sterling and Joanne Bates and her husband Gary of Lake Ariel; grandchildren Edward Strada, Jr.and his wife Tia, Vicky Botjer and her husband Art, Kevin Bates; great-grandchildren Emma Lamberton, Myranda and Edward Strada

He was preceded in death by a son Edward, Sr.; brothers Paul and Ernest

Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm.

Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sterling United Methodist Church P.O. Box 25 Sterling, PA 18463 or the Light of Christ Church P.O. Box 37, Hamlin, PA 18427 or to the Donors favorite charity.
