Herb was an all around good guy. His devotion to the care of his mother, was a beautiful sight. He went out of his way to make sure she had everything she needed, even though he was unable to care for her the way he would have wanted. Most of all, I will remember Herb's smile as he greeted his visitor.

So hard to say a final goodbye to my cousin. Until we drifted into our separate adult lives we shared many family moments — Thanksgivings at our grandparents’ house, summer visits out on Long Island. Soft-spoken, funny, self-deprecating, and genuinely kind, I know how much those close to him will miss him. As will I.
