Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with members of Salem Lodge F&AM 330 conducting the Masonic Funeral Service followed immediately by longtime family friend Rev. Arthur Davis.

Friends may call Monday from 4-7pm.Entombment, with full military honors by the United States Army Honor Guard in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

In lieu of flowers the family strongly encourages memorial contributions be made to: Ronald McDonald House of Scranton and Salem Lodge No 330.

Henry W. Stout, Madison Twp., died Friday in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after being stricken ill.   His wife was the former Joan Watts who died in 2013.   The couple had been married for 57 years, a relationship which began while Hank was calling square dances.

Born 1931 in Clifton, son of the late Maurice and Catherine Kozik Stout. A graduate of Tobyhanna High School, Hank was a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years. He served in the Army and Army Reserve for nearly 40 years as well as working as a civilian mechanic for the Department of the Army in Wilkes-Barre.  Working with his wife and children as school bus contractors and building Mar-Chet’s Auto Repair were his proudest achievements.

Hank was a member of the Salem Lodge F & AM Lodge 330 where he was a Past Master.   His dedication to fraternal organizations also included:  Keystone Consistory, Royal Arch Chapter 204, Savona Commandery No. 89 Knights Templar, NEPA Forest 137 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Hyde Park Fairview Lodge 306 Knights of Pythias as well as Staff Sgt Paul A. Sweeney American Legion Memorial Post 807, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the NE Retired Military Association.   He was a retired Regional Board Director of the Pennsylvania School Bus Association. A dedicated member of Hollisterville United Methodist Church, Hank served on the Administrative Board for decades.

Hank and his wife loved to travel and they were members of several travel groups.   Hunting with his family was a lifelong pastime.  His wife, children, grandchildren and siblings were always at the heart of everything he did.

Surviving are a son Mark and his wife Amy; a daughter Amy Amendola and her husband Victor;  siblings Edward Stout, Elizabeth MacConnell, Jean Stepinski Marjorie Kunkle and her husband Durand, Nancy Loughney and her husband Joseph, Theodore Stout and his wife Becky, Richard Stout and his wife Pat, Judith Neipert and her husband Robert, Joan Bower and Kathryn Testa and her companion Chet Beggs;  beloved grandchildren Marcella and Massimo Amendola and Brady Olsommer;  numerous nieces and nephews;  countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved angel in heaven grandson Santo Domenico Amendola; sister Louise Beavers; a sister in law and several brother in laws.
