Harry E. Wilson, 81 of South Canaan, passed away early Thursday, February 16, 2023 at his home following a brief illness. His wife of 27 years, the former Sharon J. Davis passed away in 1993.

Born in Dayton, OH on December 4, 1941, he was the son of the late Edison and Edlyn Sunagel Wilson. After serving for 21 years and in the Vietnam War, Harry retired from the United States Navy. After serving his country, Harry worked for Keystone Print, Johnson College, and Smart Source News America Marketing. He was an active member of the VFW Post 509 in Tobyhanna, Pa.

Surviving are his daughters Lori Venesky and her husband Jerry of Florida and Mary Varner and her husband Harry of Georgia; grandchildren Joseph Friedman, Jr and Rebecca Friedman both of Tx, Casey Varner and his wife Stephanie of GA; great grandson Spencer Varner; Joanne’s children Scott Owens and his wife Karen of Vermont and Jeannie Freudenburg and her husband Mark of NY; Joanne’s grandchildren Michelle, Madison, Andrew, and Nicholas; a brother Herbert Wilson of MI; many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his longtime companion Joanne Owens who passed away February 9, 2023; a brother Carl Wilson.

Graveside services with Military Honors will take place on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 11:00am in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, 368 PA – 257, Greenfield Township, Pa 18407.
