A private graveside service was held in the Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, PA.

A public memorial service will be held Saturday, May 1st at 1pm in the Tree of Life Lutheran Church 1492 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.

All CDC guidelines such as the use of facial coverings and social distancing will be observed.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Tree of Life Lutheran Church 1492 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

Georgianna “Georgie” Evarts Biesecker, 83, of Harrisburg passed away on April 18, 2021.  She was a resident of Homeland Center, Harrisburg.  She was the widow of her husband Grayson.

She was born in Lake Ariel, PA and was the daughter of the late George and Jennie Weida Evarts.   Georgie graduated from the Lake Consolidated School in 1955 and attended West Chester College where she earned a Master’s Degree in Music Education.  She taught music for 40 years in the Susquehanna Township School District.  She enjoyed working with children and introducing them to the joy of music.

She was a member of the Tree of Life Lutheran Church where she played the piano for many years, sang in the choir and served on various committees.   She enjoyed serving her church and God.  She was an avid reader.  She had many books she enjoyed, especially a large collection of children’s books.  Georgie was happy when friends and family wanted to borrow them.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Surviving are her sister Carolyn Black; her nephew Michael Black and his wife Laurie; her niece Amy Black;  grandnephews Preston Klinkiewicz and his wife Amber, Cole Samson and grandniece Julia Black.
