Therefore, those who are unable to make it to the funeral home on Friday will be able to pay their respects from 9am until 11am at the Hamlin Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11am in the Hamlin Assembly of God Church 613 Easton Turnpike Hamlin. Friends may call Friday from 4-7pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel and Saturday morning from 9am until the time of service in the church. Interment will be private in the Avoy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorial contributions be made to the Cross Road Assembly of God Church 803 State Route 435 Elmhurst Twp., PA 18444 or to the Hamlin Assembly of God Church 613 Easton Turnpike Lake Ariel, PA 18436 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends George E. Swingle, of Newfoundland, formerly of Lake Ariel, passed away early Monday morning at home. His wife is the former Judith Dexter Ehler. His first wife was the former Edna M. Brown who passed away in 2002. Born 1931 in Lake Ariel, he was the son of the late Robert and Alice Mignery Swingle. He attended the Lake Consolidated School and had been a member of the Hamlin Assembly of God Church and most recently of the Cross Road Assembly of God Church. He and his wife Edna worked many years operating their family farm in Avoy. Also surviving are daughters Susan Lambert and husband George and Amber Maines and husband Lane; sons George, Jr.”Bo” and wife Jeanette, Emil and wife Debbie and Scottie and wife Lisa all of Lake Ariel; a brother Merel “Jim” Swingle and wife Arlene of Lake Ariel; eighteen grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren; two step children Cindy O’Brien and husband Joseph of Greentown and Army Chaplain Scott Ehler and wife Amy of Ballston Lake, NY; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by siblings Rev. Gerald, Ida Mae, Raymond “Rip” and Wayne Swingle. Due to the weather, the family would like to make sure that all are safe.
