Edward M. Coggins, 76, of Honesdale died May 22 at his home after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 54 years;  the former Patricia L. Wendland and sister Carla M. Huss.

Born in Scranton, son of the late John and Carolyn Graff Coggins.  Prior to retirement he worked for A. Ovens Motor Freight & Auto Express, Inc. for 25 years and was the owner of Coggins Springhill Antiques. He and his wife Patricia were Professional American Brilliant Cut Glass Dealers/Appraisers specializing in Dorflinger Glass. He was a member of ACGA, serving on the Board of Directors for many years and was instrumental in developing the code of ethics for the Cut Glass Association. His interests were many and his contributions to those in need are beyond description.

Most of all, he was; A gentle man.  A quiet man.  A man who valued Love, Peace, and Beauty in all forms. A man who loved laughter and bright smiles.  A man who sought to help those less fortunate; never claiming credit or seeking notice for his deeds, he was always the “anonymous benefactor”.

God has now welcomed one of his most devoted servants and caregivers into spiritual immortality. Once again, he is perfect and whole, bright eyes sparkling.

Touch the warm sun Ed and find that Ancient Oak Tree. Create the Forever Forest of your dreams and surely you are now the official “Tree Hugger” in Heaven; keeper of the King’s Wood. Your maker has always known who you are. Be at Peace.

Cremation took place in Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home.
