Edward F. Wormuth, of Lake Ariel, died Sunday morning at Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Center following an illness. His wife of 56 years is the former Marilyn Glossenger.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Howard and Elizabeth Connor Wormuth. Prior to retirement he was employed by Laborers Local 130 Union in Scranton. He was a member of the St. Thomas More/ St. Mary’s Parish Commuity. He was a United States Air Force Veterean who served in the Korean War.He had many joys in life; Traveling, Dancing, and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Administration, Nurses, and Staff of the Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Center for the unconditional care given to Ed and our family.

Also surviving are a daughter Cindy Sholtes and her husband Gary of Throop; a son Timothy Wormuth of Lake Ariel; a daughter-in-law Laura Wormuth of Hawley; Sisters Kay Ferguson of Delaware and Ann Horne of Carbondale; Brothers Howard Wormuth of Jermyn, Joe Wormuth of New Jersey, and Bobby Wormuth of Texas; grandchildren Ryan Sholtes and his wife Candace of Reinholds, Pa, Sean Sholtes of Dickson City, Kenneth and Erika Wormuth both of Lake Ariel, and Amanda Wormuth of Hawley; great grandchildren Bradley and Gavin Sholtes; many nieces and nephews

Preceded in death by his son Daniel Wormuth in 2008 and a brother Richard Wormuth.
