Edward F. Hendrickson Jr., 79, of Honesdale (previously Smithtown, NY) died Monday morning at his home. He was the husband of Frances (Crudo) Hendrickson. The couple had been married for 60 Years.

Born in Huntington NY, he was the son of the late Edward and Florence Piccirillo Hendrickson. He was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in St Albans NY. Early in his life he worked with his father as an auto mechanic at his families shop, Ed’s Auto Service in Queens Village NY.  Ed was a proud member the International Union of Operating Engineers and recently received his 50 year membership pin. He was also a member of the New York State National Guard.

Ed was a life member of the National Rifle Association and had a passion for Hunting and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

Also surviving is a daughter Deborah Spidle and her husband Glen, Honesdale; a son Edward F. Hendrickson III and his wife Wendy, Mooresville NC; five grandchildren Daniel Spidle, Jessica Spidle (Matt), Alyssa Hendrickson (Chad), Samantha DelGaudio (Chris) and Edward F. Hendrickson IV; two great granddaughters Olivia Miller and Gianna DelGaudio.

He was preceded in death by a sister Gail Alia.

Funeral service and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
