Donna Lee Chamberlain of Cortez passed away peacefully surrounded by family and her long time love Kenneth Anderson Friday afternoon at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit after a courageous battle against ovarian cancer.

Born in Scranton, daughter of Richard and Josephine (Wargo) Chamberlain of Cortez, she was a member of the 1975 graduating class of Western Wayne High School and earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration for Luzerne County Community College. She had worked at the General Dynamics facility in Scranton (formerly Chamberlain Manufacturing Corporation) as a Production Shop Coordinator.

Affectionately known by many as the “Da Queen”, she loved gathering with family and friends, traveling to sunny warm places, swimming, shopping, and wining (mostly martinis) and dining. She embraced all of the wonderful things that life had to offer and could bring a smile to anyone’s face at anytime. She will be greatly missed.

Also surviving are brothers Larry of Cortez, James of Texas, Garry and his wife May of New Jersey and a sister Kelly of Cortez; nieces and nephews Christina, Grant, Courtney, Christopher, and Nicholas; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to thank Lehigh Valley Health Network, Geisinger CMC, Hematology and Oncology Associates of NEPA, and Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
