A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10am in St. Mary’ Church, St. Mary’s Church Rd., Ledgedale by Rev. Stephen Stavoy, pastor.

All attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ledgedale.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Gino J Merli Veterans Center 401 Penn Ave. Scranton 18503; Hospice of the Sacred Heart 600 Baltimore Dr. Wilkes Barre 18702; or Alzheimer’s Association P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011

Donald Andreychik, 77, of Lake Ariel, died Sunday October 11 at the Gino J Merli Veteran Center while under the care of Hospice of the Sacred Heart.  His wife of 52 years is the former Lillian Medalis.

Born in Lake Ariel, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Czubowicz Andreychik, he was a 1956 graduate of Hawley High School and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.   He was a member of the St. Thomas More St Mary Parish Community, Lake Ariel.  He belonged to the American Legion Post in Hawley, the NRA and the Gravity Hunting Club.

Don retired from the Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant in Mahwah, NJ as a quality control inspector.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother Robert and his wife Martha of Madisonville; an aunt, Ann Iskra of Conneticut; an uncle Fred Czubowicz and his wife Mary Ann of Lake Ariel; a brother in law Les Simpson of Laceyville;  sisters in law Dorothy Kuniegel of Cortez and Winifred Maskarientz of Newfoundland; nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by his sister Barbara Simpson who died in 2014.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, especially the 3rd floor and also the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassionate care given to Donnie.
