Delmar E. Weikel

July 21, 2022

Delmar E. Weikel of Lake Ariel died Thursday July 21st after a brief illness.

Born in Shamokin, PA, son of the late Delbert S. and Pearl E. Baily Weikel, he was a graduate of Phoenixville High School.

Del enjoyed anything related to nature, gardening, hunting, shooting, and in years past, raising horses.  Del was also a local diner aficionado and enjoyed making friends everywhere he went. It would be said about him, “Either you knew Del or you didn’t. There was no maybe”. He was truly one of a kind.  No one was lonely when he was around, he either provoked you to laughter, or just provoked you.

He loved his Lord, this nation and engaging in political and social conversation with whomever would listen. And even a few who wouldn’t.

Surviving is a son Joshua Baily Weikel and a daughter Melissa Guziewicz; a brother Jeffrey; a sister Lynette; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved niece Krista.

Friends may call Thursday August 4th from 4:00pm – 6:30pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Road Lake Ariel, PA 18436.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 6:30pm.

Graveside services will be held in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury.
