David R. Mitchell, 70 of Madison Twp, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family of May 31, 2021. His loving wife is the former JoAnn Marulli.

Born in 1951, in Scranton, Pa he was the son of the late James and RoseMarie Mitchell. Dave resided in Branchburg, NJ for 23 years, where he met and married his wife JoAnn and decided to move back to Pennsylvania to raise his family. He was a member of the Hollisterville United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 579. Prior to retirement, he was a welder, as well as a Maintenance Engineer. He proudly served his country for 21 years as a U.S. Naval Reserve Seabee and retired as a Petty Officer 1st Class.

Dave loved his family and enjoyed when they could all be together. He loved his grandchildren and treasured his time with them. He was full of life and loved a good time. He liked reminiscing about his childhood and the good old times. He became an Organ Donor after learning how important receiving an organ is. He tried so hard to become a recipient of a new lung, but other health issues stood in the way. He was a fighter and fought a long battle with COPD.

Also surviving are sons Keith of Branchburg, NJ and Phillip of Madison Twp; a daughter Karen and her partner Kevin of Lake Ariel; 5 grandchildren Emily, Patrik, Colin, Timothy, and Madison; 3 brothers James and his wife Darlene of Whitehours, NJ, Raymond of Scranton, and Wayne and his wife Cathy of Scranton; 2 sisters Karen and her husband Michael of London, KY, and Barbara and her husband Roger of Halifax, Pa; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of funeral services, a Remembrance Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 26 at the Mitchell family home in Madison Twp., Pa.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
