Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with Rev. James Sheridan, officiating.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7pm and Thursday morning from 10am until the time of service.

Interment, Hollisterville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages contributions to be made in David’s honor. Please make checks payable to David Christian Walker in care of NET Federal Credit Union 1444 East Lackawanna Avenue Suite 101 Olyphant PA 18477. These funds will be used for his education.

David Gerald Walker, 50, Moscow, died Saturday surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Leukemia.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of David and Karen Walker of Hollisterville and Patricia Emerick of Moscow.   He was a 1986 graduate of North Pocono High School and went on to study at the Columbia-Montour County Community College where he received his HVAC certification.  He attended the First Baptist Church of Hollisterville.

Also surviving are his son David C. Walker and his former wife Paula Walker, both of Pittston;  daughters Jennifer Oliver and her husband Matthew Micciche of Taylor and Julianne Danchak and her husband JD of Allentown;  sisters Amy Walker of Hollisterville, Holly Pierce and her husband Del of Dunmore, Laura Swingle and her husband Al, Kendra Wayman and her husband Steve; a brother Paul Tonetti and his wife Julie all of Hollisterville; nieces and nephews;  many extended family members and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his sister Marla Tonetti and cousins Katherine Jenkins and Kimberly Wiebel.

The family would like to thank the staffs of the Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York and the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the compassionate care shown to David during his illness.  They would also wish to express their heartfelt gratitude, appreciation and love to the family members and friends who showed their love and support to the family during David’s final days.
