A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 19th at 6:00pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel with services by Darrell’s cousin the Rev. James Hollister.

Friends may call from 4:00pm until the time of service at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions in Darrell’s memory be made to Traditional Hospice, 113 West Drinker St. Dunmore, Pa 18512.

Darrell Bruce Hollister, 66 of Lake Ariel, passed away Monday afternoon at home following an illness.  His loving wife of 40 years is the former Joann Kizer.

Born March 18, 1956 in Scranton, he is the son of Roberta Anna Schafer – Hollister of Lake Ariel and the late Bruce H. Hollister. He was a graduate of Western Wayne High School Class of 1974. Throughout his career, he worked for Edwards Concrete, Agway of Dupont, Seaboard Trucking, Terpening Trucking, and Edwards Quarry.

Darrell, known to many as Bubba, was a long-time member of Hamlin Fire and Rescue and the Rocky Ridge Hunting Club.  He loved hunting, fishing, and animals. Darrell enjoyed watching Nascar and was a former racer at Moc-A-Tek Speedway, and enjoyed building kit guns.  He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

Also surviving are sons John Hollister of Bulger, Pa and Chad Hollister and Brianna Peet of Jefferson Township; a sister Deborah Gromlich and her husband Dale of Madison Twp.; brothers Bradley Hollister and his wife JoAnne of Jefferson Twp. and Tom Hollister and his wife Susan of South Canaan; grandchildren Tyler, Cameron, Cheyenne;  many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

The family would like to thank Traditional Hospice for the compassionate care.
