On behalf of Aunt Florence, Trudy, Buck, David, Dick, and Gladys, my sincere condolences for the loss of such a great guy. Many wonderful memories were shared by our families. I didn't know Jim well, but he never failed to welcome me when I'd have a meal at J&Js. He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Love and sympathies from the Whitaker family.

Dear Shirley & Vicky I'm so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I'll always remember the years I worked at the J&J as a bartender, you all played a part in my life, and my children's when they were young. Funny, I dreamt on a regular basis, I was back there again working, must of been a reflection of the security ofthose we know, offer us, even when we're long gone from there. I'm sure the stories of everyone he touched, will help soften missing him. God Bless ♡ Carol Figgins

Jim was a cornerstone of the community for many decades and he seemed to always take a special pride in serving the people of the area. In recent years it was always my pleasure running into him at the post office or waving to him up the hill as I was picking up the mail. He will be missed!

I was so saddened to hear of Jim's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to Brian Chapman, his mother Hilda, Vicky and the rest of Jim's family. I will always have wonderful memories of hunting and playing golf with Jim, Don and Brian, starting from the time Brian and I became good friends in high school more than 20 years ago, all the way up to playing golf with Jim and Brian at Elmhurst this past summer. Jim always treated me like a son and never failed to ask how I was doing, how work was going and about anything else I had going on. We shared many laughs and I'll never forget how much I enjoyed his company.

No matter the weather or time of year, Jim on his daily rounds, smiling and waving from across the way was always a joy to see. My heart is heavy with this passing. After working almost a decade for this wonderful man him and Shirley has become known as family. Though he tried to do a tough exterior in the business I have never worked for such a caring man. I always remember leaving at the wee hours of the morning and him watching out the window of his home to be sure I had left safely. Even followed someone who was following me home. God bless Shirley Vicky and Emma there will be a great absence in your heart. Hugs and love. Lyn
