Collins Theobald April 20, 1960 - August 15, 2015 Burial Date August 20, 2015 Church St. Thomas More Cathy’s family invites you to celebrate her life at a mass in her honor on August 20th, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church, 105 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel. The family will receive friends and family from 9:30am until time of Mass and directly following the Mass in the parish center at St. Thomas More Church for a time of refreshment and fellowship in a continuation of the celebration of Cathy’s life. Her family asks that you wear yellow in her honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catherine Collins memorial scholarship at the Honesdale National Bank. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Catherine A. Collins April 20, 1960 – August 14, 2015 Catherine “Cathy” Collins, 55, died August 14, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. Cathy was born as one of six children to William and Mary Theobald of Honesdale on April 20th, 1960. Cathy graduated from Honesdale High School in 1978. After graduation, she attended nursing school at the Community Medical Center where she later worked in the ICU for 7 years. She continued her career as a nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital in the emergency department for 26 years. During that time, Cathy furthered her education at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and St. Joseph’s College of Maine where she attained her BSN and MSN as a nurse educator. She served as a nurse educator at the University of Scranton and more recently at the Wayne Memorial Hospital campus of Luzerne County Community College. One of Cathy’s greatest joys was passing on her knowledge to the future nurses in the area. Her passion for teaching earned her the respect and admiration of all who had the pleasure of learning from her. Cathy married James D. Collins on August 15th, 1981. Together they raised three children; Christy, Sarah, and Stephen. As her children grew, their childhood was filled with numerous family vacations which held many of Cathy’s most treasured memories. Cathy also enjoyed hiking up the waterfalls at Prompton State Park, kayaking, and cross country skiing. Cathy leaves behind to celebrate her memory, her husband of 34 years, James; her daughter Christy and husband Ryan of Lake Ariel, PA; her daughter Sarah, husband Ted, and grandson Liam of Hershey, PA; her son Stephen of Stony Brook, NY; her parents William and Mary Theobald of Honesdale; siblings: Judy Maschak, Michele Frigoletto, William Theobald Jr., Joseph Theobald, and Mary Guckert, as well as several nieces and nephews.
