Church First Baptist Church of Hollisterville

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday at 3pm in the First Baptist Church of Hollisterville 23 Pond Rd. Hollisterville officiated by Rev. James Sheridan, pastor.

Friends may call Sunday from 1pm until time of service at the church.

Interment, private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Hollisterville 23 Pond Rd. Moscow, PA 18444

Burton E. Hemmler, 83, of Hollisterville, passed away Thursday evening at the Hospice of the Scared Heart Inpatient Unit surrounded by his family.  His wife is the former Doris Frisbie.  The couple had just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on September 1st.

Born 1933 in Hollisterville, he was the son of the late Ernest and Edna Hemmler.  A devoted family man, Burton worked as a dairy farmer, drove school bus, worked in construction as well as in his family’s ceramic business to provide for his family.   He attended the 1st Baptist Church of Hollisterville.

Burton enjoyed to hunt and fish with his family.  He loved picnics and holidays with all of the family and always cheered for the Philly’s and his trips to Lancaster.  He will be greatly missed by his family who adored him.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Manahan and his team at DaVita and the staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit and his nurse, Chris at Moses Taylor Hospital.

Also surviving are a son Rick and his wife Linda of Hollisterville;  four daughters Susan Black of Hollisterville, Barbara Morgan of Springbrook Twp, Judy Jones and her husband Aaron on Knoxville, TN and Cathy Sexton and her husband Wayne of Hollisterville;  a sister Betty Morcom and her husband Robert; a brother William and his wife Gayle all of Hollisterville;  twelve grandchildren;  seventeen great grandchildren;  seven great great grandchildren;  nieces and nephews.
