Betty J. Morcom, of Hollisterville, passed away on Thursday, August 26 at home surrounded by her loving family. Her loving husband of 55 years is Robert Morcom.

Born October 31, 1937 in Hollisterville, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Edna Clark Hemmler. She was a graduate of Lake Consolidated School Class of 1955. For 41 years, Betty worked at Rita’s Sportswear in Moscow. For the past 17 years, she worked in the floral department at Weis Market in Hamlin. She loved God fearlessly and was an active member of the Hollisterville Bible Church where she served in many roles.

Betty loved her family and friends wholeheartedly. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend. Betty and Bob spent many years traveling together, especially to her favorite place, Lancaster. They built a beautiful life together and shared a love story for the ages. They faced the good and bad together, hand-in-hand and shared so many beautiful memories through the years. Betty lived life to the fullest each and every day. She was always there to help anyone in need. Even in her final hours, she was concerned for her loved ones.

Also surviving are a daughter Tracie Morcom – Smith and her husband Lee of Lake Ariel; a son Scott Morcom and his wife Donna of Moscow; her grandchild whom she loved and adored Shelly Smith, Dylan Smith, and Macey Morcom; great-grandson Robert Smith; brother William Hemmler and his wife Gayle of Hollisterville; sister-in-law Dorris Hemmler of Hollisterville; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter; brother Burt Hemmler; step-mother Jesse Hemmler.

The family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to all of our family and friends. You have made the end of Betty’s journey her on Earth a lot brighter. You all surrounded her in love and prayers. Also, a heart warming Thank you to Allied Hospice Nurses and Staff and Andrew Brown’s Staff for holding our hands and guiding us through this difficult time.

Services will be Private and held at the covenice of the family.

A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at a date and time to be announced.
