Born 1944 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Browning Dolowy. She attended Scranton Schools and was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and also attended nursing school at the former Hannehman School of Nursing.   Betty went on to have a long and distinguished career as a real estate broker.   During her 35year Real Estate career Betty was an award winning member of multiple professional organizations.  She was the Founder and original owner of RE/MAX Best in Lake Ariel.  Betty’s commitment to her profession and each individual customer and client made her one of the most successful real estate agents in the nation.

Betty met the love or her life, Bruce, in 1956 at North Scranton Junior High.  Their marriage was a model of devotion, respect and love for their children and all who knew them.  She was a dedicated, caring and supportive Mother and Grandmother.  Betty was overjoyed this past year at the arrival of her first great-grandchild, Claire, who she was able to meet during a visit to Texas in October.

Betty and Bruce enjoyed traveling, especially their vacations to Hawaii and Aruba.  They particularly enjoyed their annual trips to Key Largo cruising on their boat in the Gulf of Mexico and spending time with their many friends.  They were blessed with many loving friendships through the course of their lives, remaining close to even their childhood friends to this day.

Also surviving are her son Bruce Covey and his wife Andrea of Lake Ariel; her daughter Audra Borowski and her husband Joseph of Holidaysburg, PA; a sister Linda Leshko of Millersburg; a brother Joseph Dolowy Jr. of Oxnard, CA; grandchildren Jordan Onder and husband Marc, Joshua, Jacob, Conrad, Rebecca, Bryce and Carilyn;  a great granddaughter Claire;  nieces and nephews.
