Arthur William Lester, 67 of Lake Ariel, passed away Thursday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital following an illness. His loving wife of 49 years is the former Dorothy Nix – Lester.

Born in Carbondale, he is the son of Byron Lester, 95, of Equinunk and the late Dolores Westman – Lester. He was a graduate of Honesdale High School Class of 1972. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Gumble Brothers, Inc for over 40 years. He was a United States Army Veteran.

Arthur enjoyed spending time with his family especially his Saturday night gaming sessions with his grandson Austin “Pook” Lester.

Also surviving are daughters Trina Marie Lester of Walton, NY, and Nancy Beth Lester and her companion Robert Cosgrove of Lake Ariel; grandchildren Austin “Pook” Lester, Chelsea “His Little Chickadee” Brianne Finch, Nicholas “Trouble” Jon Finch, Gabriel “Round Head” Lee Williams, Joey “Skeezicks Flat Foot” Roses, Ryder “Peanut” Glasner , and Lee Spencer; great grandchildren Landon Dalton Covell, Josilynn Hope Covell, Dominic Roland Williams and Mia Rose Williams; a brother David Lester; sisters Shirley Kellam, Lisa Borthwick, and Carriemay Boyer; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister Nancy Elizabeth Lester.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
